Trigger and Tender point Injection

Trigger and tender point injections are medical procedures used to alleviate pain and discomfort associated with muscle knots, known as trigger points or tender points, typically located in the muscles. These injections involve the direct delivery of medication, often a local anesthetic or a combination of anesthetic and corticosteroid, into these specific points to provide relief. Trigger and tender point injections also improve mobility and function in the affected areas. These injections can be used with physical therapy and other treatments to enhance pain management and rehabilitation efforts.

-Trigger Points: Trigger points are localized areas of muscle spasm or tension that can cause pain, often in response to pressure or movement.

-Tender Points: Tender points are areas of increased sensitivity in the muscles or soft tissues, commonly associated with conditions like fibromyalgia.

Trigger and tender point injections are valuable tools in the management of musculoskeletal pain and can significantly improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing chronic or acute pain associated with these specific points.
